Drying and Dehumidification Our Water Damage Restoration Process

Once the excess water has been removed, the floors and walls may appear dry, but a quick inspection will reveal they are wet to the touch. Nearly all building materials, like wood, drywall, and flooring materials, are porous and therefore retain water. This retained water can cause the materials to break down, warp, or cause mold damage.

Flooded floor

Air Condition failure

This shoe retail store opened with a big surprise. Their roof was leaking due to a faulty air conditioning system. Luckily all the water ended up on the floor and not too many shoes were damaged. Luckily, they called the right company to do the job and they did not lose out on business hours.

Wet delicates

Restoring condition back to high end clothing and shoes that got damaged from rain and moisture. SERVPRO of East Honolulu uses high-speed air movers that create airflow across walls, carpets, pads, furniture and clothing, which accelerates the evaporation of moisture.

Carpet Extraction

One way to make the carpet drying process go faster is by using a weighted extraction system, which can remove 97% of moisture in the carpet.  The water removal technician will essentially walk with the tool throughout the wet area and press the tool down into the carpet, where the extraction tool then begins sucking up any water through the vacuum the tool is attached to, including any water soaked into the carpet’s padding or underlay.

Dancing in the rain

A dance studio in the Honolulu area experienced water damage due to heavy rain that seeped through their front door. The rain overflowed over the sidewalk and into the dance studio causing the vinyl flooring and carpet to be drenched. SERVPRO of EAST HONOLULU was called into action to access the problem areas as quickly as possible before any mold could develop.
